Brooklyn, NY — Sept. 25, 2025 — NeuSpark Person Directed Services (NeuSpark PDS, formerly known as Program Development Services), a nonprofit dedicated to supporting people with disabilities, is proud to announce the grand opening of its new headquarters at Industry City, Brooklyn! The celebration kicks off with opening remarks from the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD) Commissioner Christina Curry to commemorate Deaf Awareness Month.
“As someone who has dedicated my career to advancing disability rights and ensuring access and equity, I am proud to celebrate NeuSpark PDS’ new home here in Brooklyn,” said Commissioner Curry. “This headquarters represents more than a physical space—it reflects a citywide commitment to building inclusive communities and expanding opportunities for people with disabilities. NeuSpark’s four decades of service have strengthened the fabric of New York, and this milestone signals an even brighter future for equity and empowerment.”
The new location will serve as a hub for day programs, staff training, and community engagement—all designed to foster independence, inclusion, and opportunity. Guests will enjoy a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the new program services space, guided tours, and the chance to meet the staff, families, and community partners who bring NeuSpark PDS’ mission to life every day.
“This grand opening marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our organization,” said Executive Director Elizabeth Lynam. “From day programs and staff training to family support services, this new home gives us the resources to deepen our impact. Most importantly, it will allow us to better serve the people we support—helping them thrive with independence, connection, and opportunity.”
One shining example of NeuSpark PDS’ mission in action is Ulysses Ramos, a longtime participant who now gives the organization’s orientation talks and will speak at the event. Supported by the organization through many stages of his life, he is now a young adult living independently and thriving. At every orientation, he guides new direct support professionals through the code of conduct, sharing his lived experience and inspiring staff with a powerful reminder of why their work matters.
The celebration will also spotlight seven staff members receiving NeuSpark PDS’ GEM (Going the Extra Mile) Award, which honors employees who have gone above and beyond—making extraordinary contributions to the lives and well-being of the people supported by NeuSpark PDS, to their colleagues, and to the broader workplace community.
In addition to celebrating Deaf Awareness Month, this milestone also commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Willowbrook Consent Judgment—a landmark ruling that transformed disability rights in New York. Together, these observances highlight the progress made and the ongoing commitment NeuSpark PDS has embodied for more than 40 years. Since its founding in 1984, NeuSpark PDS has delivered more than 100,000 services each year across Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Manhattan through residential programs, day habilitation, clinical supports, and community-based services.
