NeuSpark PDS Celebrates Grand Opening

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating the grand opening of our new home in Industry City, Brooklyn!

It was inspiring to connect with our community members, partners, and leaders who share our mission of advancing inclusion, creativity, and independence. We are proud of our newly designed program space and look forward to making it a place where people with disabilities can thrive and reach their fullest potential.

One of the event’s most memorable moments came from Christina Curry, Commissioner of the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities. She reminded us of the power in embracing difference:

“Don’t ever let anyone make you feel that you are different in a negative way, because we are different—and we like that. It’s okay to be different.”

Her words echoed NeuSpark PDS’ core belief that difference is a strength to be celebrated, not a limitation to be overcome.

We are grateful for the support of Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce President Randy Peers and the entire Chamber team, whose partnership has been instrumental in helping us share our mission. During the grand opening, they presented us with a beautiful classic map of Brooklyn to mark our new home.

A special thank you to Industry City Vice President Matthew Stewart for his support in helping us secure the lease for our new home, which allowed us to move our day program into the space. Matthew also played a key role in guiding us through our expansion, laying the foundation for NeuSpark PDS to continue growing and thriving.

This celebration wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing staff. From planning and logistics to warmly welcoming every guest, our team ensured that the celebration reflected the heart of NeuSpark PDS.

The day was more than a ribbon-cutting—it was a true celebration of partnership, community, and a shared commitment to accessibility and inclusion. As NeuSpark PDS begins this exciting new chapter, we are eager to expand our impact across New York City.

This is just the beginning, and we look forward to continuing to support individuals, families, and our community as we showcase the brilliance and strength of people with disabilities.
